College Park Oakville

College Park is one of the most underestimated neighbourhoods in Oakville. Anchored by Sheridan College and the Oakville Golf Club, it offers something that is becoming extinct in newer subdivisions: massive lots and mature trees. It feels established, quiet, and centrally located.

Demographics

This is a neighbourhood in transition. You’ll find a mix of original owners who bought in the 60s and 70s, alongside investors capitalizing on the student rental market near Sheridan College. Recently, I've seen a surge of young families moving in to renovate the older bungalows because the price point allows them to get into a detached home.

Schools

Education is a major draw here. The standout is White Oaks Secondary School (South Campus), which is famous for its International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. It attracts high-achieving students from across the region.
Elementary options: Sunningdale Public School, Montclair Public School.

Parks & Recreation

The centerpiece is the private Oakville Golf Club, which provides beautiful green backdrops for many homes. For the public, Oakville Park offers baseball diamonds and plenty of green space. The Sixteen Mile Creek creates the western border, offering rugged hiking trails right at your doorstep.

Shopping & Dining

You can't get more convenient than this. Oakville Place, the town's main indoor mall (with Sephora, H&M, etc.), is located right within the neighbourhood boundaries. You also have easy access to the Upper Oakville Shopping Centre for groceries and quick bites.

Transit Access

College Park is a commuter’s dream. It sits right beside the Oakville GO Station, making the train to Union Station a breeze. You also have immediate access to the QEW via Trafalgar or Dorval, getting you on the highway in minutes.

Types of Homes Available

  • Spacious Bungalows & Split-Levels: Built in the 60s/70s, these sit on 50-60ft wide lots. Great bones for renovation.
  • Investment Properties: Multi-bedroom homes near Sheridan College used for student housing.
  • Golf Course Estates: Exclusive, renovated homes backing onto the greens that rarely hit the market.

Why People Love Living Here

It comes down to value and land. You get a lot more backyard for your money here compared to the north. Plus, being in the geographic center of Oakville means you are 10 minutes from everything—the lake, the highway, and the mall.
